SECRET BOOK BAR SET

This auction is for a most unusual bar ware set. The set includes four real leather covered antique books that had the pages glued together and the insides hollowed out. The bottom two books were hollowed so t was a square hole for the decanter to fit and four other holes for the four solid copper shot glasses. The whole of the insides are covered with brown leather. The glass decanter has gold overlay in an ornate design on the top and on the ground and polished stopper. The exact age of this set is not known but believed to be from the prohibition period of the depression years. It was designed to look like an innocent stack of four old books while it was hiding 4 ounces of liquor. The hinge is just the leather back of one of the books and the are two cloth ties to hold the top from folding back. The condition is very good with no major or noticeable damage. The glass decanter is excellent as are the four copper shots with no damage at all. This is a most unusual set and still could be used but it is a much better decorative conversation piece.
