Vintage large stuffed doll from Canada, probably 1980's? identified by attached original labels as Packing Doll, Sea Goddess, made by Maudie, Spence Bay, Eskimo (now Inuit). Great condition, clean and no odors, a lot of hand work, has small baby sea goddess also with tail, measures about 16-17" long. Note- two fingers on right hand are shorter and sewn with pink thread on ends. This was done by artist as it matches pink thread on mouths. It refers to the legend of Sedna who being rescued by her father from an unhappy marriage in a boat, who, beseiged by birds threatening to overturn the boat, attempted to thrown her overboard (kind of like Jonah, huh?). She clung to the boat and her father cut her fingers off which created seals, whales, walrus, etc. This is a very short synopsis of a long story. It is vintage in that the term "Eskimo" has not been in use for many years. US buyer pays either Priority or Parcel post according to zone.
