This is an old Seedburo brass grain probe. It's 51" long and about 8-9 lbs. - used for testing grain quality when purchasing large loads. It's basically an auger with a heavy bronze tip that retrieves grain samples from different layers. T's an inner brass tube that you rotate to capture the samples and then turn it again after to empty them out, usually onto a canvas. This is called an open-handled probe because it is not partitioned. The label is still present and legible. The Seedburo Equipment Co. was founded in 1912 in Chicago, Illinios. This one was found a long time ago in an old barn. * I only sell and ship to US confirmed PayPal addresses/accounts. Payment is expected within 1-2 days of auction ending, please.
