This is a very rare opportunity to buy the complete 1984 Seiko UC-2000 Series Wrist Information System in its original boxes, complete with its original manuals, which I believe to be in working condition. It was purchased new in !984 by my mother as a Christmas present for my dad, as he's always been something of a gadget freak. However, it was all too complicated and fiddly for him, so it's remained in its boxes in a cupboard for all these years. Fortunately, any batteries were removed before it was put away. We took the wrist module into a local jeweller's who put a new battery into it and it immediately worked. Three new AAA batteries in the UC-2200 terminal got that working straightaway too. Much more information about the system is available on the internet, including the Nerd Watch Museum at /nerdwatch/fun2.html (I googled Seiko UC-2000 wrist information system and there it all was). Considering the rarity, the completeness and the condition of this item, I'm starting the auction at a relatively high price. This item will not be reduced or relisted, should it fail to sell.
Please do not hesitate to contact me, should you require any further information. International postage will be calculated, if necessary. Since listing the item, I've been in touch with Mr. M. Akizawa (a most charming gentleman) of The Seiko Institute of Horology in Tokyo in case his institution wished to buy the system. Unfortunately, they already have three sets so declined to do so, but Mr. Akizawa, having seen my E-bay entry, described my UC-2000 set as a 'wonderful item.'
