This is a Great Collectors Specimen!! Lots of Small Selenites & One Very Large Selenite!! This geode is approx. 4 inches in diameter 1 lb 2.4 ozs T are many small Selenite Crystals & One very large Selenite in this Geode. Quartz - silicon dioxide, SiO 2 Crystals may have double terminated points, twined, and the rarest diamond shaped crystals, hexagonal dipyramid (a quartzoid). Quartz is usually colorless to white, transparent to translucent, but frequently colored by impurities and then can be any color. It also has electrical properties ( piezoelectric and pyroelectric ). Gypsum variety Selenite - calcium sulfate, CaSO 4-2H 2O Habits are tabular , diamond-shaped with beveled edges, and twinning ( swallowtail ). Luster is viterous, also pearly and silky. Colors are white, colorless, gray, shades of yellow, red, and brown, from impurities. Transparent to translucent. Dolomite - calcium magnesium carbonate, CaMg(CO 3) 2 Habits are unit rhombohedrons sometimes steep looking like triangular faces and " saddle shape " or curved faces. Colors are pink, flesh color, may be colorless, white, gray, green brown, or black. Luster can be pearly. Transparent to translucent.
