This is Sennheiser MKH 416T T-powered supercardioid shotgun microphone. The only difference between this and the regular 416 is the way it's powered (and the price - the t-powered units go for way less money). The regular 416 P48 uses standard 48v phantom power, while this uses the older 13v T-power standard. The two types of power are not compatible without an adaptor or a separate power supply (don't try to mix them - your whole rig will explode, blinding you in a shower of fiery pain, leaving you a maimed, crippled shell of your former self). If you need one, I AM ALSO SELLING A T-POWER SUPPLY in one of my other auctions - not just some cable adapter, but a real battery box with the proper output voltage. T-power is also available on the preamps of some of the older location sound recorder / mixers like the Sound Devices 302 and 442 as well as the Nagra V (and I believe the IV). I bought this microphones a couple years ago as a lot of 3, but since I only need 1 mic, I'm unloading the other 2. Cosmetically, it's... well-loved. Operationally, THIS UNIT IS BROKEN!!! I don't know what's wrong with it and I don't know enough about electronics to fix it. If you're handy with a soldering iron and want to take a gamble on getting a (potentially) great mic for a couple bucks, a few parts and a bit of labor, then this could be a great read more
