**ANGEL in WHITE ** Sixth plate daguerreotype of a STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL young woman or teenager, by BISBEE! T are three listings in Craig's Daguerreian Registry for the name Bisbee. This one is most likely Albert Bisbee, who was known for producing six large daguerreotype plates of Cincinnati, OH and displaying them at the Crystal Palace Exhibition in New York City. Mat, preserver, & resealed plate, but no case. Excellent focus and wonderful range of tones, including some of the most beautiful whites in her upper garment. Nice tinting of the face with flesh tones. Few areas of swiping oxidation and mat abrasions detract little from her beautiful portrait. Ornate chair! Rings, earrings!! *Save on shipping: purchase more than one item!
