Hooded globe-type front sight and ladder-type rear sight. Fine rouletting and molding at breech. Set-triggers. Varnished walnut stocks. Sling mounts. Sold together with a Sharps factory letter stating rifle was invoiced July 29, 1878 to Sharps dealer A.J. Plate and Company of San Francisco, California. It was noted in the letter as a Model 1874 Hunters rifle. The caliber is designated .40-70 caliber. Also included is the original catalog page from previous purchase by consignor.
