Serial no. 192643, .44-40 caliber, 30-inch octagon barrel of extra weight, with standard maker, address and King`s improvement patent markings. Barrel with German silver blade front sight, mounted on blued steel base dovetailed at muzzle. Open sporting rear sight of buckhorn style. Blued steel peep sight mounted on upper tang. Blued finish, with case-hardened frame, fore-end cap, hammer, cocking lever and buttplate. Varnished and checkered select walnut stocks, the buttstock with pistol grip. Sold with factory letter stating the following: .38 caliber; Barrel length: 30-inches; Barrel shape: Octagon; X Heavy barrel; plain trigger; Checkered stock with pistol grip; Case-hardened; Received in warehouse on October 8, 1885. No shipping date on record. No order number on record. Repaired and changed to 44 caliber on July 14, 1891. 40000 - 60000
