Serial no. 2076 [correct small numerals], .44 caliber, 7 1/2-inch barrel with address reading: Address Sam`l Colt New York City [reading left to right from cylinder to muzzle]. Bottom of barrel stamped `3` at lug. Top left side of barrel lug marked with letter `P`[government sub-inspector Nahum W. Patch]. Cylinder with partial letter `P` to right of serial number. Cylinder arbor stamped on top with letter `P`. Left side of loading lever marked with letter `A`. Left side of frame marked: Colt`s/Patent/U.S. Hammer marked on left side with a `P`. Squareback brass triggerguard and gripstrap assembly, with 90 degree angle of convergence at top where it meets frame. Forward triggerguard tang faintly marked 2076 with file marks present; faint `P` inspector mark at back of triggerguard bow. Varnished one-piece walnut grips with no markings in evidence. Revolver contained in a green baize lined London style Colt mahogany partitioned casing together with a copper bag-shaped powder flask by T. Collins; a two-cavity Colt`s Patent steel .44 caliber bullet mold; two Eley London cap tins; `L`-shaped nipple tool and ball supply. Circular brass escutcheon with coined edge in lid. Keyed lock escutcheon with key present. According to the prior owner H.F. Harms, this case was purchased after WWII directly from the London Museum who was selling duplicate items to raise money for the Museum. 18000 - 25000
