Serial no. 35042, .45 caliber, 7 1/2-inch barrel with P and J.T.C. inspector stamps. Blued finish. Case-hardened hammer and frame. Fire-blued trigger. Cylinder with P and J.T.C. inspector stamps. Left side of frame with U.S. markings. Bottom of frame stamped J.T.C. Hammer recess in frame stamped C. One-piece walnut grips, the butt of right grip stamped J.T.C., the side of left grip dated 1877 and bearing crisp D.A.L. cartouche. Right grip with faint J.T.C. cartouche. Sold with Colt factory letter confirming configuration and documenting shipment to U.S. Government, delivered to U.S. Government Inspector at Colt Plant on January 31, 1877 in a shipment of 200 firearms. 10000 - 15000
