Wilton Armetale Soup/ Side/ Chili & Dessert Bowls Offered for your consideration today, is a set of (6) Wilton Armetale Soup/Side/Chili/Dessert bowls. They measure 4 ¾" in diameter and 1 ¾" depth. These bowls have a matte finish and are in an incredibly clean condition with minimal usage marks. Each bowl can hold exactly 1 1/3 cup of liquid without spilling over its edges. I have no idea what style they are in; but if you have a Wilton or Carson Soup Tureen, these bowls will complement it beautifully! I have rarely ever seen these for sale ; yet they appear to be a perfect match for the tureens! They are so plain that they will also fit in well with any styled set of Wilton , Carson , or York metal-ware dishes without clashing. Just put one of your bread dishes under it and your setting is complete. Simplicity in style does not negate versatility in fact. In addition to soups, these bowls are perfect sidekicks to a full plate. Fill one with steamed veggies, and you have a nice accompaniment to your steak and potato. Dole out a perfect portion of chili on a cold winter evening, and you'll satisfy a hunger for both heat and comfort food. These bowls would also be ideal for that warm cinnamon-scented apple crisp that we all crave in autumn ;or even just a simple dish of ice cream with topping. So, don't just bring them out when you are serving soup from a tureen, utilize these little bowls in any way that serves you best! For each of the suggested uses above (and many more) these bowls should be "keepers!" The only reason I am selling this set is because I have far too much metal-ware in my cupboards and it has finally overflowed into my cellar. Hubby wants me to "simplify." So, Alas! As much as I hate to, I must part with some of it. These neat little bowls have all of the Wilton marks on them, which mean they have all of the Wilton qualities that we "zealots" have come to know and appreciate. Hot foods stay hot longer and cold foods stay cold longer. Please keep in mind that: Metal ware is made from a molding process; so, you will see occasional "non-use "flaws and imperfect symmetry in many items that are made this way. For those of us who appreciate the old fashioned value of "hands on" craftsmanship , these "flaws" simply add to the charm of an atmosp we are attempting to create when we use these products. You will be amazed at how "new" these vintage pieces appear. But please keep in mind that they are not new. Also, they have many of the typically charming qualities that are associated with a sand mold process that many of us have have come to appreciate from all of the top quality metal-crafters. In other words, they are not perfect (as they would be if they were machine manufactured) They have that rustic, primitive, or colonial feel to them; and the exceptional beauty to these particular bowls is in their solid SIMPLICITY. These bowls have a matte finish on front and back , but they still shine! I have done what I could to describe and demonstrate (in photographs) what you will be bidding on.
