HI, YOU ARE BIDDING ON A STUNNING SET OF 7 1895 Wm KERR ART NOUVEAU SILVER NUT DISH-BOWL TRAY SERVICE-SET- STERLING In solid sterling silver by the renowned Art Nouveau silver house of William Kerr, an exquisite and well-preserved nut, bonbon,caviar or mint service. The set is lovely and comprises a serving bowl and six (6) individual dishes, all in the same motif. (It was difficult to produce good photos of the entire group without dividing the group. In case the photos are misleading: the service includes one (1) larger serving bowl and six (6) smaller individual bowls.) The decorative theme is very typical of the art nouveau, characterized by deep embossment and hand-chasing of seductively swirling lines and patterns of blooming irises on the vine. The craftsman ship is superb and the amount of pattern-work and craftsmanship, in a period known for such, far exceeds most other examples, and is larger than most other examples. Many items are listed as classic or vintage, but this service is truly antique (> 100 years), circa 1890-1905. All six individual bowls are in fine pre-owned carefully-used and lovingly cared-for condition. Each is 3.25âe x 2.5âe x 0.5". Please see our photographs. T are no dents. T is only scant underside abrasion. The large service bowl: 7.5âe x 6.25âe x 1.25âe. This item, either organized into sets or sold as individual bowls rarely comes available. In the current world market t are only two offerings (of this EXACTLY same item: hallmarks, pattern, etc) which we have been able to identify. These offer the small individual bowls EACH of which are priced at $42 and $47. EACH. The larger service bowl offered elsew at $390 and $450. PLEASE BE SURE TO VIEW MY OTHER ITEMS FOR SALE!!!
