This set of 2 oval Alfred Meakin serving bowls came from an auction in Vermont. The bottoms are marked Alfred Meakin England Kent. They date to 1891. They have a rich blue floral design along the scalloped rim. The larger bowl measures 7 by 9 3/4 inches. It is in good condition. There are two very small chips (one may not even be considered a chip) under the rim, see the 6th and 7th pictures. The other bowl measures 6 1/4 by 8 7/8 inches. This bowl has crackling in the glaze and 3 chips under the rim. One is very small. The other two can be seen from the top if you look for them. I debated whether to sell this one with the other, but I considered it more like a throw in. They are both lovely.
