These prints are vintage reproductions of 18th century engravings done by Mary Marley - one of England's first caricaturists. First published in 1776 the original set had 24 different prints.The term Macaroni referred to a man who "exceeded the ordinary bounds of fashion in terms of clothes, fastidious eating and gambling."Colonial Williamsburg created replicas of the prints. These are from Colonial Williamsburg circa 1970.This set includes:The Fly Catching MacaroniThe Original MacaroniMacaroni GamblerDancing Master MacaroniThese items have been previously framed and displayed.
