Welcome to my auctions! Cards that you see listed with this opening statement are cards that I am selling on consignment on behalf of a Master Antiques Appraiser. All of these consignment cards are first-rate, high-quality cards with views that are highly coveted by serious postcard collectors. That said, the consignor has agreed to my practice of starting all sales at 99 cents and letting the market determine the true value of the cards. Some of these views have not been seen on EBAY before, and might not be seen again after this auction closes. This is a fantastic opportunity to add to your collection, or to begin a new one. If you have any questions about the item up for bid, please send me an email. Insurance and/or foreign mail registration will be required on all cards selling for $100.00 or higher. This is a set of 10 wonderful postcards, done by the Artist Jean Dratz, for the Belgium Exhibit at the 1933 Century of Progress World's Fair held in Chicago, Illinois. The cards were all printed in Belgium, and published by Messrs. Wellens & Godenne, Brussels, Belgium, and Picturesque Belgium, Chicago. They were all done in the Picturesque Belgium series for the Belgian Exhibit at the 1933 Worlds Fair. Pictures 1 through 10 above, are identified as follows: An Old Dancing Ye Old Print Shop A Speakeasy in Old Time The Territorial Defense Guard A Glorious Sunday, Hearing the Carillon The Sing-Sing Prison in the Old City Upon the Old Bridge, The Spiritual Society They Admire the Old Gun In the Old City of Damme, Near Bruges The Primitive Gangsters in Old BelgiumAll cards are signed by Dratz. This is such a rare opportunity, to obtain the set of 10 cards all at once, for such a low opening bid! The cards are in good condition with very little sign of wear. The cards are postally unused. Questions about my items? I typically photograph bo th sides of the card when the card is postally used, or when t is significant damage or soiling on the back. Otherwise, I show only the front of the card. If a card is postally used and I can read the writing, I will include the postmark information and who the card was sent to. I do this at the request of my customers who are genealogists and search EBAY for family names and locations. is how I grade my cards: If you are a repeat customer, you will know that I am a conservative grader of cards. I would rather have you be pleasantly surprised than disappointed when you receive your card(s). "Good" means lightly bumped or faintly creased corners, and/or light edge wear, and/or light soiling. "Fair to Good" means corner wear, edge wear, soiling, and a slight tear or some faint creasing. "Fair" means corner wear, edge wear, soiling, and more than one tear or crease. "Poor to fair" means corner wear, edge wear, soiling, and moderate to significant creasing. "Poor" is a quality that I seldom use. It means the card is right on the brink of being tossed in the trash, and is only offered for sale because the card is unusual or unique in some way, and someone may need it for a collection until a 'better' one comes along. I never use "mint" as all my cards are used in some way, and even though they may look perfect, I can't vouch for how someone else will see the card. I sometimes will use "virtually no sign of wear" to indicate a card that looks unused, and is uncreased and squeaky clean. Invoicing and Shipping questions? Unless you have purchased only one card, please wait for my invoice before you pay. If you qualify for combined shipping, and don't wait for the invoice, the system will not combine shipping due to a quirk in the program. I invoice every morning, for sales made the previous day. I invoice every Sunday evening for all cards remaining unpaid for at the end of that week. If you have made previous arrangements with me for billing, you may disregard any Sunday night invoice you receive. Otherwise, payment is appreciated as soon as possible. Unless you have made previous arr...
