You are bidding on a set of 11 Columbian Expo tickets plus the Caxton Envelope they came in. After the 1893 Fair closed, the Caxton Company purchased all unsold tickets from the Fair. They then packaged them in sets of 11 and sold them in a special envelope that they had created. After they ran out of the Child's Ticket for Chicago Day they sold sets of 10 in the same envelope. Because the envelopes were only slightly larger than the portrait tickets, the tickets with stubs were folded over the group at or near the perforation. That is why many of these stubbed tickets when found, show the fold. Most of the tickets found in Crisp Uncirculated (CU) condition came to market this way. Columbus Indian Washington Lincoln Franklin Handel Chicago Day Chicago Day - Child's Manhattan Day Day of Admission Child's Special Caxton Envelope I think according to the Ebay Grading Guide for Columbian Expo Tickets , the 6 portrait tickets, the Child's Special ticket and the "Day of Admission" ticket qualify as CU. As with all Caxton sold tickets, the 3 stubbed tickets were folded at or near the perforation, over the smaller tickets before being placed in the envelope. The Chicago Day ticket has no flaws except the fold at the perforation. The Chicago Day Child's ticket has a soft corner. It is intact but folded under, I forgot to unfold it before taking the photo. It also has what appears to be a light damp stain, but only on the back. The "fold" missed the perforation and left a crease. The Manhattan Day ticket has the 1st perforation at each end broken, but is still attached. Buyer to pay actual shipping and insurance charges only.
