Up for bids is this set of four Thonet Bros. bentwood chairs. I found them at an estate sale just this weekend in Jackson, TN. They belonged to a former doctor and avid collector. These chairs appear to have always been together as a set. The only thing wrong with any of them is that the wood is a little buckled on one of the seats as I have shown in the picture. The markings on the bottom are the same. The "c.T.c." I have learned is a Romanian abbreviation for quality assurance and inspection. Each of the chairs bears this mark. Only one chair has "Made in Romania" burned in it as deeply as you see it. Otherwise, the wood is not cracked and split. These chairs are as beautiful as they look. If you want to save on shipping charges, you may pick them up at my home. You may take up to six weeks from auction's end to get them with no extra charges. I live 20 minutes north of Interstate 40 the Parker's Crossroads exit in McKenzie, TN. Otherwise, I expect shipping to be about $25 per chair. Buyer to pay for shipping and insurance.
