Anglo Indian Regency Style dining chairs MUST SELL-LOSING STORAGE SPACE-SEND BEST OFFER Up for auction is a set of dramatic Indian chairs dating from the early-mid 20th c. The armless chairs are made of horn inlay veneer with silver filigree edging and silver ramsheads. The cushions are brand new with quality reupholstery in black cotton velvet. Although the design is similar to reproduction chairs in silver, or wood/"ivory"like materials these are of an older and much higher quality of craftsmanship. The inlay work is very delicate, and the finishing of the silver edge is beautifully done. The chairs have been in my family for over 15 years-they were purchased from a friend who bought them in India and had them shipped. Once them arrived he discovered they did not suit his decor. A few years ago, my kids started to get rowdy and climb over stuff, so I moved them into storage. I am about to lose that storage space, so I must sell. I paid $550 a chair and recently spent over $600 for the new cushions. Their general condition is very good ( listed below is the exact state of each chair). Five of the chairs are exactly the same, and one has a slightly different inlay pattern, and a smoother silver edging. chair 1 has 2 of the ramhead ears missing on the left side chair 2 has 1 piece of veneer(1inch by 3/4 inch) missing on the left side below the seat chair 3 has the right rear ramhead ear missing. 1/4inch of edging is bent on the back side chair 4 has 1inch missing edging on the back side chair 6 has a small piece (1/8inch by 5/8) of missing veneer on the back side of the left leg These chairs are for local pick up only-I can meet your shippers or recommend local shippers, but unfortunately, I cannot ship them for you.
