A lovely set of SOUVENIR SPOONS for COCOANUT ISLAND in HILO, Hawaii. Each bowl is intricately hand engraved (and so each one is very slightly different) with palm trees, bushes, rocks and the ocean. The handles have an art nouveau tendrill design on front and back. The bowls also retain their original gold wash (both front and back) and the engraving is bright cut, so when the engraved design catches the light they shimmer beautifully. The hallmarks are STERLING and S, &, and P in heart shape boxes for Simmons and Paye of North Attleboro, Massachusetts, (later Simmons and Baker), who specialized in souvenir spoons and described themselves as 'Simmons and Paye - The Souvenir House'. The spoons are in excellent condition with no dings dents or repairs and none of the bowls are out of shape or worn down, they are not monogrammed nor have they ever been monogrammed. They are each approx 5 1/4" long. A very pretty set of American souvenir spoons for Cocoanut Island in Hawaii. Thanks for looking and please see my other auctions of more good quality American, English and Irish silver.
