includes a silver British service medal with obverse diademed head of Queen Victoria with the inscription VICTORIA REGINA and the date 1854. The reverse shows a winged figure of Victory crowning a Roman soldier, who is holding a shield with lion figure in his left hand and a sword in his right, with a laurel wreath. The word CRIMEA to the left while the designer`s name of Wyon is visible in tiny letters to the lower right. The medal is fitted with a foliated swiveling suspender unique to this medal and sweated to the medal and has the campaign bar Sebastopol, in oak leaf with acorn terminals, medal is 1.5` diameter x 3` with blue and white silk ribbon, PLUS Ottoman Empire Order of Medjid medal, founded in 1852, was the lowest ranking Ottoman order, but nonetheless was considered prestigious. It was frequently bestowed on British subjects for service in Egypt and in the Crimean War. The badge consisted of a silver seven-pointed star, with small crescents and stars between the rays. In the center was a gold (or gilt) medallion with the Sultan`s Toughra, surrounded by a red-enameled gold ring with the words Zeal, Devotion, Loyalty in Arabic script. The badge is suspended by a red-enameled crescent and star device, on a red ribbon with green borders, 2.25` diameter x 4.5` long with ribbon, PLUS an unknown medal, possibly Bulgarian with red enameled cross form with center having gilt figure of St. Gregoris with relief name surrounding it on blue enameled ground, gilt stamped armor, flags and arms above cross and red and yellow silk ribbon, 2.15` diameter cross x 4.5` long, PLUS a cluster of miniatures of the above three medals mounted together on multi-colored silk ribbon. AND The final medal in this lot is Crimean War issued French Legion of Honor with (central gold medallion with obverse bust of Napoleon Bonaparte wearing laurel wreath crown, facing right with blue enameled surround with gold lettered Napoleon Empereur Des Francais with white enameled 5-pointed cross with forked ends with green and red enameled laurel and oak leaf wreath behind, reverse with Imperial eagle and surrounding inscription on blue enameled ring reading Honneur Et Patrie, this medal is suspended from gilt crown with red and green enameled jeweled band, which is attached to red silk ribbon, cross is 1.5` diameter x 4` long. This may be the first imperial style Légion d`Honneur medal. All 5 medals are mounted in a 19th century shadow box frame, 9.25` x 10.25`. These medals were undoubtedly all won by the same British officer during the Crimean war.
