This is a Rare set of four Victorian Solid Silver Ice Cream bowls which date c.1895 & are each fully hallmarked "Sterling Silver" & crafted by the American Silversmiths "Shreve & Co" of San Francisco. This set is extremely rare & I am aware that only a handfull of sets now exist. The Bowls are of exceptional Quality & are of conical form with twin loop handles & cast foliate borders, on circular feet, again with cast foliate borders.They would have originally held a clear glass liner to hold the ice cream. They all bear the monogram of the original owner. Aside from two small unattachements of handles (easily rectified) they are in excellent condition with NO Dings, Dents or Repairs. They measure 15cm wide & have a combined weight of 11.7oz (332g). Superb.
