I am pleased to present a clock that most collectors only dream about seeing let alone have the opportunity to own. This is for your consideration at a NO RESERVE 7 DAYS AUCTION with a starting BID OF 100.00. This is Set Thomas's SONORA ON 8 BELLS with TWO TUNES: Westminster and Whittington. This stands just over 14 inch high, 10 inches across and 7 ½ inches deep. I find it to be all-original with the only possible question being the finish. I do not know if it is original or not but it is well done and very acceptable. This is an eight-day clock, which plays the selected tune chimes on the quarter hours and counts the hours all on a nest of 8 perfectly tuned bells and on one bell on the Hour. This case is in the Seth Thomas's hand rubbed dull type finish made from selected Mahogany. The dial is original with a dulling of the silver. These dial were silver coated and so over time they usually wear thru to the brass. This dial is undocked and please leave it this way. It is one of the beauties of this clock. It is great to find and important clock like this that people have not "improve" her appearance. The bezel is correct and brass with a original convex beveled glass in place. The feet are original brass bun feet. The chime movement is marked 104A. The case has a few nicks and t but nothing that is a problem. T are no areas that I need to picture to show you a concern. This has the silenced bar but I cannot imagine ever using it. The clock portion of this movement is fine and has recently been serviced. The Chime potion has been working but it will probably need some attention. Now and than it will not start the chime process right on the quarter hour and I am confident that this represents a cleaning issue. The other issue is now and than the last note of the third chime will not strike. Unless you are sitting, watch this, you word probably miss this and not know this as an issue. I believe the cam gear is sticking or not in proper relationship with the chime cam. My judgment is to enjoy this wonderful clock and when it needs attention address this problem. These two issues I could easily not have reported or very much minimizes them, for they are not major when considering this clock. However, I want you to have all the information I can give you. I am very sure that this is an adjustment and cleaning type problem and nothing more. This is an opportunity to own one of the finest and most desired clock ever made. That is a strong statement but it is true. With all of my clock auctions, I will provide the correct winding key to the new owner.
