Welcome to Clarks Odd End auction! This beautiful Seth Thomas clock was made in December 1906 (the date stamp on the bottom reads 1906 K #25). We purchased this clock from the estate of a doctor who was an avid clock collector. He owned many Seth Thomas clocks and kept them in great running order. This style is the Adamantine with double columns. Two of the columns are bakelite and the other two are wood. The original pendulum and double sided key come with this beauty.The key will need replaced eventually as the small adjustment side takes patience to use,it is a bit of a loose fit,the winding end works perfectly and has a snug fit. We have thoroughly cleaned and waxed the clock. We were able to remove 101 years of tarnish and buildup off of the copper and brass fittings and bring back its natural luster. This clock has an 8 day movement, meaning it will run and strike for 8 days when fully wound. The clock runs and strikes wonderfully, however will need to be adjusted a little to not lose minutes when you receive it. It also must be totally level as almost all older clocks require. This clock being 101 years old does have a few imperfections as it is all original. T are some chips to the top, but can easily be covered with a pretty doily. T is a small repaired crack to the front right side in the corner of the wood, but can not be seen unless you look for it up close. The dial and bezel are all original and in really great shape for the age of this clock. T are 4 copper raised feet that it sits on and they are in really great shape as well. The clock strikes with a deep cathedral style gong. It will strike once every half hour and accordingly on the hour. The clock measures 17" wide from foot to foot,7" deep and 11" tall.Age has removed most of the original label,although I found and printed a label for this clock and will include it not attached.We have had this clock running for 2 8 day cycles continuously but would recomend a tune up for optimal performance.
