The Seth Thomas Clock Company produced several variations of their renowned SONORA CHIME CLOCK. Some of the Westminster-chiming models were made with four bells and others with five. These patented Sonora bells have always been as sweet and mellow as any Westminster chime clock on the market. The eight-day movement is clean and running well. The striking mechanism is marked 90B. The Mahogany case is clean and fine-figured. The silvered dial is also clean and has only the expected amount of specks (see photographs). On the dial is the name of the merchant who originally sold the clock (Fred Bucher and Sons, Baltimore, Md). There is a switch on the side of the case (see photograph, that can be used to silence the chiming....although I can't imagine anyone wanting do so. They don't come any nicer than this and the five bell Sonoras have been increasingly sought-after through the years so grab this prize example for your mantle or desk.
