Seth Thomas Clock "MEXICO mod. 1882 " Introduction You are bidding on a Victorian Era, beautiful Seth Thomas Mantle Clock from 1882. Description This is the one of the Rarest Seth Thomas clock model 1882 with Adamantine finished wooden case. It seems to be last year of production for this model. It is a little deferent that other Seth Thomas clocks from that time. This model never had Lions heads on the sides, legs like other ST clocks or engraving on the case. All this comes later in 1896. That time Seth Thomas factory decide to made wooden clocks looks like marble. The clock is original, this clock is not painted, but it is covered with adamantine (only Seth Thomas made clocks that way), and that's why it can be restored to perfection. Seth Thomas case is finished in black adamantine with gilded decorations around columns. They are beautiful ornate with flowers . This clock has eight day two trains movement, signed Seth Thomas and has "ST" logo on the back plate. The movement chimes on an hour and strike on half hour on the cathedral coil gong . The clock has beautiful porcelain dial. The key that fits the adjustment and the winding trains comes with the clock. Size: 16" x 11" x 6" Condition The clock runs great and looks gorgeous. It has been cleaned and serviced. The movement has been takes apart to cleaning. The case is beautifully polished. The dial is original. T is no scratches or chips. The case is very nice condition.
