Ship's bell clocks manufactured by the Seth Thomas Clock Company are always very popular with collectors....and especially this model with the outside bell and hinged dial cover. The paper label on the back of the case board is a bit rubbed and flaked, but in better condition than most I've seen (see photograph). The brass bell and movement housing is in good condition with some rubs and scuffs---overall it too is much better than most (see photographs). The clock runs perfectly and strikes the bells in correct sequence. There is a strike/silencing control on the dial and a speed regulator arm to adjust the Fast/Slow setting if necessary. This is a really fine example of this famous ship's bell clock purchased from the estate of an old Maine Coastal home.
