Offered forr auction is this lovely Seth Thomas Ca. 1845 Pillared Shelf/mantel clock. It is an 8 day brass works, weight driven clock with both time and hour strike.The door glass, mirror and lower painted panel appear to be original. You can see in the photos 2 other labels besides the inatact original Seth Thomas label. One is a jewerlers advertising from Terra Haute Indiana and the other is a hand written note from a clock repair stating that work was done on the clock in 1904. It states that the case was made in 1845 and replacement works were installed. If you note the painted tin face it is most liklely the original as it has the Seth Thomas logo and it was redrilled to accept the newer movement winding arbors. The weights also appear to be original. Please note that the photos show the original Seth Thomas lable virtually intact...it is .The case has been cleaned and the gilding retouched. Shipping will be two boxes, one for the heavy weights (16 pounds ) and one for the clock.
