Seth Thomas - Civil War / Pre Civil War Era / Shelf Column Weight Driven 30 Hour Mantel Clock Plymouth Hollow, Connecticut I bought this clock before Christmas, to go on a mantel in our old home, paid $107. 00 + shipping. For one it is too large, and seems a bit out of place. Two, the clock will run approximately 3 minutes then stop, and I do not have the patience to make the adjustment needed to get it leveled / balanced, up and running. I have another Seth Thomas, marked Plymouth Hollow that has run 37 straight years with only an occasional oiling, in a bedroom. I would date this clock mid 1800's, maybe the early 1860's certainly no later. The label is 90% complete and reads, Plymouth Hollow, Connecticut. The case measures 25 1/2 inches tall by 15 inches wide by 4 1/2 inches in depth. The 30 hour brass works / movement are good but are not marked as I can tell. The case has a rosewood finish is very good, with only a few veneer chips on the corners. It has the original raised chapter dial, weights and a period brass pendulum. A winder is provided. Both the top and bottom glasses appear original with the bottom glass having a later decal transfer. The case and columns appear to be untouched and original to this clock. As I have said the clock runs about 3 minutes or so and then stops, it will need adjustment and tuning, that I do not have the patience to do. This is a great piece of history that needs a little attention or someone can use the clock in restoration of others, I will leave that up to the person purchasing. Shipping will be a flat $37.00 priority USPS mail - this is what I paid, and the clock will be shipped in two parts, the weights in one box and the clock in another, pasking will be good. Insurance will be mandatory, I will not ship this clock without insurance No foreign shipments on this clock ------------------------ NONE......................... The clock is sold as is, I am an honest seller on Ebay and have been for years, I will accept Paypal for payment and U.S. Postal Moneyorders with which I will ship immediately, and personal checks, but the shipment will not be shipped until the check clears and in our rural area that is at least 10 days. Hope that all will have a "Happy New Year".........................................................
