This auction is for a "SETH THOMAS U.S. NAVY DECK CLOCK No.1" (Serial no. 11470). It also has the Naval Observatory Cartouche & serial # 6316 engraved on the face. It is 7 ¼ inches in diameter, 2 ½ inches deep and weighs 7 ½ pounds w/o the base, base weighs another 5 ½ pounds. The Brass shows superficial scratches and many small nicks and scrapes. It has a dent on the top back rim (See pictures). T is corrosion on the bottom side, as if it had been mounted on a vessel and had moisture dripping from the bottom (see pictures). Last serviced on 9-86. The Clock runs fine & keeps accurate time. This is not a bell strike clock & is not lacquered. Universal key included. I have only found one that is similar on the web, dated "1915", serial #11390, but I really don't have any idea about the actual date. (###/pages/clock4101.php )
