Japanese shin-hanga woodblock print by Komura Settai (1887-1940), published in 1938-39. Sealed in red lower-left. I have seen this print variously titled, "Momiji Autumn Leaves", or more often, "The Heroine Osen Holding a Red Maple Leaf". Very good condition with moderate toning, tear and repair at upper-left corner, mounting residue and skinning top margin verso. T are a couple of darkened areas above and to the left of the figure's head that may or may not be an artifact of the printing process, which do not detract from the image. Strong impression with precise register, saturated color and good bleed-through to verso. This print usually sells for over $600. in like condition.
Oban-tate size = 10.5 X 15.5 inches
