Severus Alexander, 222-235 AD. Gold Aureus (5.27 g), Rome, struck 233 AD. Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right. Reverse: Liberalitas stands left, holding abacus(?) and cornucopia; LIBERALITVS AVG V. RIC 242d; BMCRE 945; Calico 3070; Fr-471. Bold, full strike, the portrait showing faint doubling, well-centered on ample flan. Brilliant and lustrous. Superb Extremely Fine. Scarcer type.
