Hand painted cobalt blue Sevres French plate with ormolu brass frame - rim. This exquisite plate has a beautiful hand painted scene of a french couple resting in the countryside under a tree. The entire plate is hand painted and has three separate floral scenes surrounded by lovely hand painted, raised gold work. The plate is signed Lefranc and the detailing is amazing. The plate is in wonderful condition with no damage at all. No gold loss at all. Plate measures 8.75 inches and would be the perfect addition to any French porcelain or limoges collection. The ormolu frame really adds a wonderful finishing touch to the plate and adds to the fact that this really is a piece of artwork. Unbelievable colors - the lady is wearing a lovely green and lavendar dress with a small pink rose as the finishing touch. The gentleman has a lovely blue and yellow frenchy coat and equisited detailing as well. This is an amazing find. I am a long time collector of French and German porcelain and am simply downsizing my collection a bit. Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions. The plate is marked with the "sevres" s mark as you can see and has another mark, that says chateau and is in red. See pictured for more details on the double makers marks.
