Sevres Porcelain Cobalt Blue Cup and Saucer, Circa 1837

This beautiful cup and saucer was made by the Sevres Company in France. It is a beautiful cobalt blue color with a hand painted courting scene on the front of the cup. The saucer has magnificent paintings of colorful flowers. Both the cup and saucer are all trimmed with hand painted gold gilding. The bottom of the cup is signed by the Sevres Company with four different markings and is dated S-37 which means 1837. The bottom of the saucer is signed with the Sevres mark with an A in the center of the mark and an S at the bottom of the mark. The cup measures 4" wide which includes the handle and 2" high. The saucer measures a little under 5.5" in diameter. Both the cup and saucer are in excellant original condition with on chips cracks or repairs. Magnificent!
