Shaker Swing Handled This is a #4 box with a swing handle and lid. The handle swings in both directions toward the bottom of the box. It is made of red oak, stained colonial maple, and clear coated to allow the beautiful wood grain to show. It is new and was constructed with meticulous care, in the Shaker Tradition, from start to finish in our carpenter shop. It was put together with copper tacks and wooden pegs. THIS IS THE ONLY COLONIAL MAPLE SWING HANDLE WE HAVE AT THIS TIME. It measures 8 1/2" Long X 5 3/4" Wide X 3 1/4" Deep Shipping Weight is 1 lb. 10 oz. It was a popular item in retail stores, remembered for the bright colored lining with sewing aids of pincushion, needle holder, emery, and bees wax. A novelty when put on display. You can use your imagination as to what you might put in the box. It makes a wonderful package for a gift.
