This is a large, early cabinet photo. Circa 1900. The mount measures approx. (14" x 16 3/4") and the photo (8 1/2" x 10"). The photographer's mark in the bottom margin reads "SZE YUEN MING - PHOTOGRAPHER - SHANGHAI". T are also Chinese characters to the left of the photographers mark. Neat image showing what appears to be a political or business delegation of British (?) diplomats and Chinese officials. Many of the Chinese as well as the Caucasians are wearing a flower on their coats. Research may turn up some interesting facts about the meeting. The mount has wear to the corner tips but no creases to the mount or photo and no tears or stains. The photo itself is very nice. Thank you. Insurance is optional.
