Being offered is a Sharon,,Litchfield County,Connecticut schoolgirl's 1838 friendship poem and 1839 folk art sampler; the sampler featuring a charming farmyard scene that includes a house with animals in the front pasture....the animals featuring a very folky, whimsical spotted red cow watching over 3 sheep(2 items). The schoolgirl's friendship poem(8x8) is signed "C. Boland Sharon,Conn. 1838" and the folk art house sampler(13x13) signed with schoolgirl's initials and dated '1839". The folky sampler is in good condition with only some minor linen imperfections but nice resolution and visual appeal; as well as wonderful overall integrity of the needlework.
