Rare old pitcher and wash bowl set made by Anthony Shaw, the originator of the famous tea leaf pattern in about 1856. This set was made before the 1891 requirement to include the name of the country of export. It comes from a great Texas estate and is part of a set of tea leaf iron stone that we will be offering that includes a chamberpot, a soap dish and a mug. The bowl measures 14 1/8" across and is 4 3/4" high. The pitcher is 12 1/4" high, 8" across the spout and handle and 7 1/4" wide. T are no chips on the set. T are three areas of partial hairlines. WAIT don't click off they are very minor. One on the bowl is on the inside only and is about 2" long (see photo), it does not go through to the outside of the bowl. The inside of the pitcher on the bottom has spider web looking lines that also do not go through to the outside (t is no repair as the mark is on the bottom and would be covered if it was repaired), see other photo. Finally, the handle at the top has a tiny line that is only about 1/2" long. This is not a break and does not continue all the way around the handle. T is minor discoloration of the inside of the spout and a small amount on the handle but these are not very noticeable at all as shown in the photos. The copper luster is in very good to excellent condition. The photo of the set looks like part of the luster
