This a wonderful vintage piece of Shawnee American made art pottery from the mid century time frame. This is in the rare form of a bear bank. Look up Shawnee in completed listings, and you will find very few different style of Shawnee made banks. I have yet to be able to find this one in any books or on Ebay. The sitting bear figure is beautifully decorated with gold trim on the ears, around and on the paws and on the tail. The eyes are a nice painted green with brown eyebrows. t are 5 under the glaze flower decorations. The bank stands a tad over 4 1/2 inches tall. The slit for the coins is atop the head. This piece was never used, and has never been exposed to light or dirt. It has the whitest porcelain, with the decoration in mint condition, and even has the rare addition of the original foil sticker, reading Shawnee China Underglaze hand Decorated with a tomahawk to the side. The label is red with gold trim. The bottom has the embossed or stamped SHAWNEE signature above a brown marked 15 of 250 painted number, making it a very limited edition piece of art. Below that, t is some type of embossed or stamped symbol that i cannot make out. It almost looks like a cactus. It may be the artists signature. EXCELLENT CONDITION!! NO CHIPS!! NO CRACKS!! NO REPAIRS!! NO STAINS!! MINT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
