Up for auction is one Shawnee Tom The Piper's Son teapot. The pictures don't really do this piece justice. It is in like new condition. My 86-year-old grandmother recieved this as a wedding present in 1946, so it is at least 61 years old and since neither of my grandparents drank tea, it was put on top of the kitchen cupboard and used as a display piece. No chips, scratches, knicks, worn paint, crazing, nothing. It's as if it came out of the box yesterday. The only flaw is that it has "sticky stuff" on the unglazed part on the bottom that I just could not wash off. Written on the bottom in script is "Tom The Piper's Son" and under that in print "PATENTED U.S.A.. I am almost certain that you would not be able to find another Tom in this condition. What a superb addition to a Shawnee collection, or a 1940's retro collection. Please feel free to e-mail with questions. Thanks for looking and Happy Bidding!
