This is a Very Rare Early Sheaffer #46 Special Orange Flat-Top with Gold Filled Trim. The pen is in working condition and it operates appropriately; it draws up ink and writes smoothly. The Pen appears to be in Pristine Condition with the only sign of wear being the brassing at the ball of the clip. The only flaw is hairline crack in the threads (please see picture). There is a clear imprint on the barrel of the pen and it is clearly marked Sheaffer on the clip. The original 14K Gold nib is perfect shape and labeled: Sheaffer 46 Special.
