A boxed Sheaffers Statesman fountain pen and pencil circa 1952. Finished in pastel green with gold filled clip and wide cap band. When new, the pen sold for $15.50 and the set for $22.75. At 14 cm / 5.5 inches long capped, the pen is fitted with a Triumph palladium-silver nib with an F4 fine point. The pen uses the touchdown snorkel filling system which operates smoothly and properly when tested with water. The pen has never been inked and is as new still carrying the price chalk mark. The twist action pencil operates smoothly and properly and the eraser is unused. The pencil has an original paper stock label on the barrel. The satin lined box is unmarked and in lovely condition. A great opportunity to obtain a collector grade set.
