Shelley China (Light) Blue Paisley Ripon Cup and Saucer - Lovely!Pattern Paisley is one of the less common Shelley china patterns. This particular blue paisley is different than other blue paisley in the colors are a lighter shade. The paisley pattern consists of indigo blue, a very pale green, pink/plum and yellow on a white background. The cup's handle and base are trimmed in gold on white; while the rims on both pieces are solid gold.Pattern number While there are numbers 'hand written' in a dark orange shade on the bottom of the cup, they don't appear in the typical 5-number format as on other Shelley china. Additionally, the numbers themselves are difficult to distinguish. The 4-digit number directly under the Shelley stamp appears to be 2.488. The numbers to the left of the stamp; to right of it:Shape RiponDimensionsCup A hair less than 3" tall; diameter without the handle: just over 3-1/4"; with the handle: 4-1/4". The base is 1-3/4".Plate Measured straight across, the diameter is almost 5-3/4". Measuring with the tape conforming to the plate's curve, it is just under 6" wideShelley StampCup Shelley stamp on the bottomPlate Same Shelley stamp that's larger and lighter than that of the cup. There is a vertical 'dash' to the above right of the stamp that is the same gold as the trim. It almost looks like a '4'.
