Up for auction with NO RESERVE is a very nice Shelley china creamer and sugar bowl. It is a variation of the Sunset and Trees pattern with a light yellow/tan background color. The colors are vivid and bright and the detail is wonderful. It is marked on the bottom Shelley England Rd 723404 and with the handpainted number F 11828 and 6 underneath. T is also another small handpainted mark or initial. This particular mark was used between 1925-1945. I believe this pattern is from the early 1930's. The bowl measures 4 5/8 - 5" across and sits 2 1/2" high. The pitcher measures 1 7/8" across the bottom, 5 1/4" across from tip of spout to end of handle, and sits 3 1/8" high. Both pieces are in excellent condition - no chips, cracks, crazing, damage, or repair. T are some very light scratches on both pieces. T are minor glaze imperfections (mostly glaze pitting on the inside of the bowl), this is to be expected with an antique handpainted piece. The bowl also some black marks in a couple spots along the edge, probably from wear. You can see this in the photo. These things do not take away from the beauty of these pieces. T is hardly any paint loss on either piece, they are stunning in this unusual color! This would make a great addition to your Shelley collection, to use or display. Bid with confidence.
