A spectacular earthenware wall charger (c. 14.2" d.) decorated with the 'Melody' chintz pattern with the hand-painted central panel and banding in blue. The undersides bears the usual 'Shelley' mark in green accompanied by the polychromatic mark specific to this pattern and the hand-painted pattern number ('8809/B'), c. 1939. The condition is 'very good' or better with minimal crazing and little, if any, loss to the enamelling. The lithographic chintz decoration is well applied and there are, of course, no chips, cracks or restoration. No handling or packing fee. Will happily combine items to economise on postage/shipping charges.
