Four Shenango Chardon Rose Restaurant Ware Plates Offered for auction are four red Chardon Rose pattern plates Shenango China. These restaurant ware plates are, of course, heavy pieces. They include:1. Two small side plates which appear to be bread plates but can be used for any item that uses a small plate such as dessert. These are 5 ½ inches in diameter. One plate has a small chip off the bottom raised rim but aside from this these heavy pieces have no other chips or cracks. There is some light wear on the top surface.2. Two 9 inch diameter dinner or salad plates are in very good condition with no chips or cracks. Like the smaller plates, there is some light wear on the surface. One of the larger places has a mark that is faint and different than the other three and where you can see a faint patent number that looks like 2,178,47-------.Shenango was in business in New Castle, Pennsylvania from 1901 to 1991. The plates, per the V16 code are from 1958. On the back is a green mark featuring a man with what looks like a table. Beneath the man is written, "Shenango" followed by "china," then "New Castle, PA., USA." Beneath that is written "Rimrol Welroc" followed by a trademark sign and "V16."1901-1991These plates are from Shenango’s Rim Rol line of restaurant ware.
