UP FOR BID IS A VERY RARE BEAUTIFUL TENNESSEE CENTRAL RAILROAD NASHVILLE pattern individual creamer used in their snack tray service. A rare piece in this pattern that has rarely surfaced as this is the hardest of the two style creamers to find. These were used with the snack tray service on the TCRY in the late forties. T were two sizes of creamers that went with the coffeee cup and saucer snack -tray service that were served mostly in chair car service. Piece is near mint condition with no chips, cracks or blemishes.The flowers were always individually hand painted on this china. T is no hallmark on back as these were rarely marked on the back but most all of pieces said HAND PAINTED. The TC used this special HAND PAINTED pattern from 1945 to about 1953. The china was supplied to the railroad by a local china distributor in Tennessee and The Southern Railroad was, as I was told in charge of their dining operations up to a certain point. TC definately had purchased the china from the Shenango China Company for on line dining service but did not offer full range dining car service. The TC Did NOT have Dining Car Service per say but they indeed had buffet car service of which is w this china was used and retrieved.
