This attractive 2-drawer cherry work stand dates from the mid-1800s. It has good proportions, gracefully tapered legs, and nice color and finish.
There are a couple of demerits: The drawers originally had half-mortised locks, which have been removed in the past, and an eighth-inch strip of cherry has been laid over the tops of the drawer fronts to hide the vacant half-mortise. At some point, someone had installed a 2-post pull in the middle of each drawer, evidently to hide the keyholes. These pulls have been removed, and the holes filled and nicely colored to match the balance of the drawer front. Overall condition is very good - no damage, no puppy-teeth-marks on the legs - in short, no problems. It is an attractive piece of furniture, ready for your home or shop. Shipping will be reasonable, as the stand can be shipped via UPS. Please dont hesitate to ask questions, request more photos, etc. , and please take time to view our other offerings. We have some fine antique American 18th and 19th Century furniture, nautical antiquities, including some great pond yachts and navigation instruments, and a few rare antique tools.
