is a beautiful old antique Caboose Whistle marked "Sherburne Co Boston Mass" " Patent1890212" for your inspection. The handle moves nicely to all positions, and feels snug and tight. The round trigger/button has very nice action, not sticky...spring action is excellent.

The caboose whistle you see came from an old copper shop in Philadelphia, Pa., now long since gone. This whistle, and a couple others I have up for auction have all been stored in a dry location for the last 10-15 years, and I've just dug them out recently. I've carefully cleaned the many years of grease, grime and dirt from the whistle with a mild detergent and warm water wash...inside and out. The whistle was then lightly buffed with a soft fine brass wire brush, and soft bronze wool. It still shows a beautiful patina.

This whistle has not been disassembled, and has no damage from wrenches and tools like most of the old steam whistles you see. It's really a beautiful old piece to hold. Weighs in at 2lbs. 11.8 oz. of solid brass.
