Offered is a very unusual collection regarding the London Transport Electric Locomotive, "SHERLOCK HOLMES." The collection includes the following Original items: A newspaper clipping from, "The Manchester Guardian" for Tuesday, October 6, 1953 showing 'Holmes' and 'Watson' inspecting the nameplate presented to the London Transport by The Sherlock Holmes Society; a clipping from the November, 1953 issue of "The Railway Magazine" also detailing the locomotive; two souvenir tickets for Baker St. and Finchley Road to Baker Street (the ceremony was held at Baker Street Station); a 7-1/2 x 21" schematic color drawing of the 'London Transport Electric Locomotive and New Electrification Scheme" from "The Eagle"; and an Invitation for the ceremony. PLEASE NOTE the Transport System logo with pipe and deerstalker for this special occasion. Only one I've seen and I'm confident not many have survived. Very Low Starting Price. Please see my other auctions for more Sherlock Holmes and Conan Doyle items.
